Welcome to Cherry Road School
Welcome to our Cherry Road School website! We are very proud of our school and hope you can see that from all our site has to offer. I’m honored to be our school’s ninth principal and to highlight here a few key facts about Cherry Road.
- Physically, our building is the oldest in the district and was built in the mid 1920’s. It has undergone nine renovations with the most recent completed in 2021. Modern facilities blend nicely with the maintenance of the rich history. The bench in the library is an example of an original treasure that still keeps our history alive!
- The school has had many grade level configurations over the years and began as a two-room schoolhouse. Currently, we house grades 2-4 with about 400 students total.
- We are proud to offer an excellent rigorous academic program coupled with a warm and nurturing environment. The development of good character and citizenship are at the top of the priority list.
- Our staff works collaboratively with weekly Professional Learning Community meetings centered around implementing curriculum, assessment, and research-based instructional practice.
- Each student is celebrated for his/her strengths and we work hard to give every child what he/she needs to reach the next level.
- We are fortunate to have extremely supportive families who help us in so many ways to educate their children. They value education and we value their support!
